Thanks so much, this article was real help. I had had the same problems with Unity, and have just moved to xubuntu. I am still turning and adjusting it, but my overall impression - it looks great, and again - thanks for useful notes.

it has been a while since I purchased a my book, and they must have changed since the last time I did. The first thing I always did with them was to reformat them into NTFS format. And that usually got rid of all the software that came on the drive. Western Digital should make that an option to use the software and to be able to delete it if you do not use it. That's a shame that they try to force the stuff on you

It seems working for me!! I spent like 5 hours to get this working...
Anyway, I've made a custom rules file at /etc/udev/rules.d to prevent further hiccup caused by update. It seems the custom file overrides the original file defined in /lib/udev, if the heading # is larger.

Thanks anyway.

JR,

It's really good news that you are highlighting this method of secure email delivery, it is exactly why digiPost built a similar system used by companies and service providers in the UK back in 2009.
I believe user adoption for services like Voltage and digiPost are really going to rocket this year - even though we still find that we have to educate our customer...

It works for me on an old Dell C800 laptop that I resuscitated using Ubuntu 11.0. However to make it work, I right click on the diskette icon and select "Detect Media". It then opens a new diskette icon from which I work with the diskette. Unrelated to this, I first had to modify the xorg.conf file to make the display on my C800 work properly. I'm a Linux newbie, so I'm delighted to find so much Linux information on the internet.
